Phoenix Manufacturing and Design

   I am Aaron Cayce, the owner and founder of Phoenix Manufacturing and Design LLC, based in Colorado. Back in February 2014, I established this company to leverage my extensive 26 years of experience in machining and manufacturing. My goal has always been to deliver parts of the highest quality, with good lead times, and at reasonable prices.

Over the years, I have carefully curated a team of highly skilled employees who bring with them a wealth of professional experience and extensive knowledge in various aspects of the industry. From concept development and design to inspection, prototyping, and manufacturing processes, we excel in every detail. Our expertise spans across a wide range of industries, including medical, tech, automation, aerospace, automotive, and firearms. We have worked with different machines, software, and even exotic materials. To support our operations, we have established a network of trusted vendors who understand the fast-paced nature of the job shop environment, ensuring a seamless supply of materials and tools.

At Phoenix Manufacturing and Design, we understand the importance of rapid response times and effective communication with our customers. We make it a priority to promptly return requests for quotes and maintain an open line of communication throughout the process. If necessary, we engage with our customers at the concept and design levels to improve manufacturability, thereby reducing costs and often improving lead times.

Throughout my career, I have held supervisory and lead positions, overseeing schedules, workflow management, and providing comprehensive training to my colleagues. I have worked with various multi-axis machining centers, programming them using different CAD/CAM software. In addition, I have successfully organized and established multiple machine shops from scratch, handling everything from procuring suitable real estate to acquiring all necessary tools, materials, and equipment. Through my years in the industry, I have cultivated a trusted network of support vendors and built a diverse and loyal customer base. This has allowed our company to thrive and experience substantial growth. During my formative years, I attended machine shop school and welding courses at the Career Development Center in Longmont, enhancing my skills and knowledge.

Throughout my professional journey, I have had the opportunity to manufacture parts for nearly every industry imaginable. Whether it's aerospace, automotive, water testing equipment, spectroscopy instruments, medical implants, or even firearms, I have been involved in their concept, development, and production. Some of the products I have worked on have even gained recognition in prestigious medical journals and national magazines. During my time at a major aerospace company, I spearheaded the establishment of a machine shop supporting a large staff of engineers and scientists in the Space Flight and Laser Electro Optics field. As the Responsible Area Superintendent (RAS), I single-handedly managed all activities and personnel in the machine shop while also serving as the Chemical Custodian for a significant portion of the facility. Through strategic equipment acquisition, streamlined procedures, efficient scheduling systems, and strong customer relationships, I successfully reduced part costs and provided rapid prototyping solutions. My advanced processes and profound understanding of the manufacturing trade have repeatedly saved critical programs by reducing delivery times and costs.
